To celebrate the launch of the Nokia N900, Nokia’s holding some N900 meetups around the world. The event kicks off in Helsinki on Oct. 21, 2009 and will hit a couple more cities on the map: Chicago, New York, and Dubai. According to the rather sparse blog entry, more locations may be added in the future.

I don’t know much about the meetups, other than it’ll be one of the first chances to get a hands-on look at the N900 mega-tablet-computer-phone-device. I also don’t know if registering guarantees you a spot at the event.

To register, simply click on the link below, click on a city, enter your name/email, and click Register. Make sure you provide a valid email address, since you’ll need to activate your registration before it gets entered! New York’s going fast, down to 26 seats left. Go go go!

Deal: Nokia E71 Phone Now $280 Shipped @ Dell

Haven’t put any of these deal postings up in awhile. Here’s one for today, courtesy of Dell.

The Nokia E71 is available for $280 or $279 shipped, depending on color:

E71 Grey, $280 with free 3-5 day ground shipping
E71 White, $278.99 with free 3-5 day ground shipping

The E71 has a reputation around the wireless world for being a solid phone that packs some very decent features for its slim size. The phone’s main draw is the Blackberry-ish QWERTY keypad, one of the better ones that I’ve used. It’s part of the Eseries line, so there’s more business-oriented features such as VPN and data encryption. If that’s not your thing, the E71 has most of the typical Nseries/Eseries features (Symbian S60 Third Edition, 3G, decent 3.2 megapixel camera, excellent battery life, etc).

See the Nokia Phone Blog E71 Preview for more.
